Council sets precept figure for 2005-06

DURSLEY Town Council has set its precept for the year 2005-06 at £161,814.

The figure was fixed on Tuesday, along with spending proposals of £175,172.

The difference between the figures will be made up from the council's various income sources.

Last year the precept was £153,370, which means that it has risen by a little over five percent, while the spending proposals have risen from £162,089 - a rise of around eight percent.

The council says the sum will enable it to provide the required level of service, make contributions towards improvements in the town centre and give continued support to the CCTV system.
