Postage reassurance

SIR - In response to Graham Bartlett's letter querying my postage costs, I would like to reassure constituents that I do not and would not send any party political information by House of Commons post. This would be entirely inappropriate.

Mr Bartlett raises the specific issue of my correspondence with tenants during the housing transfer ballot. None of those letters went out by House of Commons post; nor were House of Commons paper or envelopes used to send them out.

I hope it can be acknowledged that his accusation had no foundation.

David Drew Stroud MP House of Commons London
