The poor chickens?

SIR - I notice in most letters re fox-hunting that its always the poor fox.

Nowhere have I seen anything about the fox causing trouble - which they certainly do when they raid a fowl's house - not because they are hungry.

They get in even in well penned houses and cause mayhem amongst the hens, biting the heads off and leaving the bodies and, if any hens are left alive where they have been chased, they have lost a lot of feathers and are very distressed. It's never poor chickens!

It's always the poor fox. At least a fox can run away if it's chased but the chickens cannot get away.
