Lighting up the town

VOLUNTEERS from Dursley Chamber of Trade were busy over the weekend installing the Christmas trees and decorative lighting to brighten up the town during the festive season.

The lights, which are funded by donations from traders and Dursley Town Council, will be switched on next week ready for Dursley's special Christmas shopping event on Saturday, December 4.

Christmas Shopping Saturday will include seasonal entertainment and many special offers for shoppers in town that day (9am-5pm). There will also be a visit from Father Christmas who will be in his grotto at Starshine at 10am. Shoppers are again being encouraged to Try Dursley First in their search for Christmas presents this year.

A chamber spokeswoman said: "Dursley has many new shops as well as plenty of established businesses with a wide variety of products on offer."
