SIR - Towards the end of a most enjoyable day's walk from Wotton via Newark Park, Ozleworth, Kingston Bagpath, Bagpath itself, Ashcroft and Tyley Bottom last Sunday, my wife and I finally reached the Coombe end of the Tyley Bottom public footpath only to be confronted with a quagmire which she managed to negotiate, but where I had the misfortune to slip, lose my balance and get one leg sunk to a depth of more that two feet in the slimy mud. read more
