Dursley club is a hubbub of activity

THE past few months have been a busy time for the members of Dursley Bowls Club.

Now that the club's ground is owned by the South West Regional Development Agency the club has successfully applied for, and been granted, Community Amateur Sports Club status.

This means that the club has an assured future on its beautiful site behind the Priory at the bottom of Long Street.

It has changed its name to reflect the open nature of its membership and has, indeed, already attracted many new younger members, some of whom have recently been busy building new paved banks at the ends of the green.

Changes have also been made in the club pavilion where Roy Evans has built a new bar, while the club now has its own Justices Club Licence.

New shirts in the club colours of dark green and gold are now on order and every member will be issued with one. Members, new and old, may subscribe in the club pavilion on either Tuesday, April 19, or Thursday, April 21, between 6.30pm and 8pm.

The first match will be an away game on Sunday, April 24. Enquiries from prospective new members may be made to Mrs Jan Malpass (546949).
