Community springs into action

DRIVERS throwing litter out of their cars have been blamed for leaving a majority of litter in Uley.

On Saturday villagers joined together for the annual litter pick.

Cllr Janet Wood said: "It went well. We had a reasonable turnout - mainly members of the WI and parish council. We went through most of the village and picked up a lot of litter - about five sacks, most of it along the main road.

"Unfortunately it seems a lot of people are chucking things out of their cars as they go along the main road."
