Calling all car lovers

The Rotary Club of Cheltenham Cleeve Vale has booked the world famous motor hill climb circuit at Prescott for a unique event next weekend that is open to classic car lovers across the region.

The circuit is being made available for people across Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and beyond to have a rare opportunity to take their classic cars up the hill. The circuit is usually restricted to official events, making this opportunity a real one-off.

It is a good time of the year for the event as so many cars are now being brought out of their winter storage and polished ready for the summer.

There are already well over 100 entries that range from the Morris Minor, through ten Cobras, to a Dennis Fire Engine and a Bedford Charabanc with 25 passengers.

The event takes place on Sunday, May 15, and looks set to be lots of fun with hundreds of people expected.

The purpose of the event is to raise money for charities around Gloucestershire and further afield around the South West. Cars are coming from Dorset, Wiltshire, Glamorgan, Cornwall, and even as far as Surrey and Kent.

One of the vehicles that will be on show, a one owner Alvis Grey Lady, has a 50th birthday over the same weekend, and there will also be a 1927 Dodge tourer on display.
