Co-op grant for GL11 Project

THE GL11 Community Project in Cam has received a grant from the Oxford, Swindon and Gloucester Co-op to help them equip their new kitchen.

A Co-op community dividend grant for £705 has been awarded to the self-help charity to buy a cooker, fridge-freezer, kettle and toaster.

The Fairmead-based project offers a friendly and welcoming environment for residents and families in the GL11 area.

Among many activities, the project provides adult education, family learning and community support services.

The work on the kitchen is an example of the work undertaken by some of the 26 volunteers there.

The renovation project also involved work by offenders under supervision as part of a rehabilitation project.
