Rogers is delighted with choice

FANS' favourite Scott Rogers has welcomed the appointment of Gary Owers.

Rogers recently turned down a lucrative offer to return to Tiverton, and had been approached by Charlie Griffin's agent about a possible move to Wycombe, but with Owers taking the helm at The Lawn, Rogers is now keen to pen a new deal.

"Personally I'm delighted that Gary has got the job," sad Rogers.

"After all the uncertainty it is good to know we have got someone who knows this club inside out."

Rogers played alongside Owers for Forest Green, before Owers ' departure to Bath City.

Rogers feels the club have appointed the right man.

"Gary is a winner. I remember watching him play for Bristol City when I was an apprentice at Ashton Gate.

"We hope he can improve us and add to the team."

Meanwhile, defender John Brough is hoping to be offered a deal at The Lawn. The former Cheltenham Town player turned down an offer from Weymouth last week.
