Rolf show is not pro-hunt event

WE would like to thank Mr Brown for the opportunity to clear up any misunderstandings concerning the performances at Berkeley Castle of Rolf Harris and his band on August 6 and Hayseed Dixie and the Wurzels on August 7.

We would like to assure Mr Brown and any other concerned persons that NONE of the proceeds from events run by Atmosphere Festival Ltd will go towards the Berkeley Hunt or to supporting Field Sports in any way and will most certainly not be a platform for any political party or pressure group. We would have been very happy to reassure Mr Brown of this, had we received any direct communication from him.

The reason for using the Berkeley Castle meadow is purely for its size, accessibility and beautiful location. After successfully running the Stroud Fringe Festival for nine years, the same volunteer group have decided to expand and hope to reproduce a similar fell-good factor at Berkeley Castle meadow, by providing a safe, friendly, accessible place for everyone with quality music, entertainment and good old-fashioned fun.

The meadow has sufficient space for us to place an enhanced viewing platform for wheelchair users, separate car parking area for blue badge holders and toilets suitable for all abilities. In future years (we have been in discussions with The Variety Club of Great Britain), our aim is to become one of the premier accessible festivals in the country, allowing not only less able customers to enjoy themselves but also their friends and families and all members of the community.

Atmosphere Festival Ltd is a not-for-profit company and any monies raised will be put back into future events, so with this information now clearly stated we hope that you will have the reassurance that by purchasing a ticket to see either Rolf Harris on August 6 or Hayseed Dixie and The Wurzels on August 7 you will, in fact, be supporting a truly worthwhile cause. Tickets can be purchased via our website: www.atmospherefestival.co.uk or on 023 8071 1818.

PS: To the best of our knowledge 'Tie me kangaroo down sport' is the only reference to cruelty Rolf Harris has ever been associated with! end
