ORGANISERS of the Lister Tyndale Steam Rally in North Nibley have hailed the weekend's event as the biggest success in its 15-year history.
More than 15,000 people are thought to have visited over its three days. Show co-ordinator Clive Wytchard was extremely pleased to see so many people enjoying themselves.
He said: "We have been running the steam rally for 14 of the last 15 years and this was without doubt the best of the whole lot.
"The weather was very good and helped out a lot but I think we really pulled the crowds in with out good selection of attractions."
The rally boasted over 200 tractors, 180 cars, 150 motorcycles and several huge display engines.
Mr Wytchard added: "It was absolutely fantastic. As long as so many people keep coming, we know that we can keep going and keep improving the show."
The organisers are already looking forward to making an even bigger impression at next year's event - June 16-18, 2006.
