Thanks all round for the seats

I REFER to the recent letters about the seats on Stinchcombe Hill. Through the good offices of one of the trustees agreement was reached with Lister-Petter that they would take away and refurbish the two original Lister seats which were in a poor condition.

Two new seats have been provided by them free of charge and have now been installed on the Hill, one by the car park and one by the sixth tee. The Golf Club have generously done the work of installing the seats including providing the concrete plinths free of charge.

Lister-Petter will retain one of the original two seats to provide a historic record of R A Lister's work and the remaining seat will be returned to and installed on the Hill, probably at the top of Sheep Path Wood.

I hope your readers will agree that thanks to the good work of the volunteers organised by John Smallwood, the Hill is looking particularly well cared for at present.
