THE Gazette recently reported Stroud District Council had wasted more taxpayers money on lessons to teach councillors how to speak! A great pity the lessons were not on how to listen!

They have allocated another £600,000 trying to bludgeon council tenants into selling their homes (the second time in two years). Obviously the £1.2 million is a nice 'fat bonus' for council employees who ignore the 57 per cent 'No' vote already declared.

This money would have been far better used on repairs etc to the housing stock. The French and Dutch governments got 'no' votes from their voters and appear to be listening to what their people say. Why then have Stroud District Council ignored the verdict very clearly given to them?
