Beauty therapist on the move

A CAM businesswoman has set up a new mobile beauty therapy business.

Sally Griffiths, 27, of Wragg Court, set up Feelgood Therapies in May, with the aim of providing beauty therapies to clients in the comfort of their own home.

Mrs Griffiths qualified as a beauty therapist from Gloscat in 1997 and has been a qualified nail technician since 2003.

Feelgood Therapies offers a whole range of treatments including aromatherapy facials, male facials, Hopi ear candles, deep muscular massage, full body massage, pedicures, waxing and lash and brow treatments. The business also offers manicures and nail enhancements, using Creative nail design, and nail art.

Mrs Griffiths also arranges Little Miss Feelgood parties, a funky nail art party for young girls.

Mrs Griffiths decided to set up her own business after a year and half working as a team leader for four therapists in a beauty salon.

"I found it difficult to fill the staff with commitment to the job and customers," she said.

"So I decided to set up my own business. That way I could look after customers to my standards.

"Beauty therapies make people feel good as well as look good. Personally I think that feeling good about yourself is most important. Many ladies do not visit beauty salons, maybe because of lack of confidence or perhaps they are big like me and don't think that beauty treatments are for them. I want to change that.

"The business is growing all the time. I have been bowled over by the way it has grown. Many people like having a treatment in their own home. I can go whenever they want - I am quite flexible. I think that the customer comes first."

While the business is still growing Mrs Griffiths is happy to travel a wide area to treat clients and thinks each treatment has its own benefits.

She said: "Each therapy is good in its own way. I can so such a broad range and everyone will make a different person feel good."

Following my facial at Feelgood Therapies I can certainly say that the experience was totally relaxing. I would recommend that people who don't normally have beauty therapies give it a try. I went away feeling completely relaxed.
