Lady Captains 25th Anniversary Day: IT was the turn of the ladies to enjoy their 25th anniversary week when they played in the Captains Day competition. In dry weather some 48 ladies played in a Stableford competition. Scoring was good and in Division One Lynda Pearce came out on top with 37 points, followed by Corrinne Durber with 36 points.

In Division Two Wendy Richardson was the winner with 36 points, followed by Julie Cruickshank with 36 points.

After the tea interval the ladies were joined by the men in a nine hole Yellow Ball Stableford and the winners were Corrinne and Colin Durber and Debbie and Doug Pringle with a score of 65, the same score of Michelle and Simon Craker and Willie and Julie Cruickshank. The evening finished with a Caribbean feast.

Results: 18 Hole Stableford, Division One: 1 Lynda Pearce, 37pts; 2 Corrinne Durber, 36pts; 3 Jackie Swallow, 36pts. Division Two: 1 Wendy Richardson, 36pts; 2 Julie Cruickshank, 36pts; 3 Bet Gazzard, 35pts. Nine Hole Stableford: 1 Corrinne and Colin Durber, Debbie and Doug Pringle, 65pts; 2 Michelle and Simon Craker, Willie and Julie Cruickshank, 65pts; 3 Julie Paulette, Keith Stokes, Pauline and Steve Hanson, 59pts.

Seniors v Puckrup Hall Seniors:

COTSWOLD Edge Seniors continued their winning ways when they played Puckrup Hall Seniors at The Edge and won by 4.5-1.5. Result: M Collier/B Streatfield bt R Baldwin/D Wilson 5&3; R Baker/R Moss bt C Harrison/J Teare 6&5; J Barnes/P North bt R Stuart/B Lingard 1 up; C Gale/M Phelps bt D Morris/N Jones 2&1; J Finch/T Baird lost to T Ashford/J Ussher 1 down; P Oliver/J Mackay halved I Griffiths/B Cunningham.

August Mid-week Medal:

CONDITIONS were good for the August mid-week medal and Ian McKay made the most of it when he shot a nett 65 to win, with a junior, Sam Fisher, second also on nett 65.

Result: 1 I McKay, 71-6=65 (countback); 2 Sam Fisher, 90-25=65; 3 A Newman, 90-21=69.

Junior Open:

COTSWOLD Edge Junior Open was held at the club on a lovely summers day, when 40 juniors from all over the area took part. M Bradford won Division One with a nett score of 66, followed by James Baldwin with a nett 68.

In Division Two Sam Fisher, who is running into some excellent form, scored a nett 63, followed by W Eden with a nett 67. Division Three was won by R Eden with a nett 66, followed by Mark Ferrier with a nett 61.

In the Girls section Claire Wenman scored a nett 57 to reduce her handicap by eight shots, followed by C Jobbins on a nett 69.

Results - Division One: 1 M Bradford, 77-11=66; 2 James Baldwin, 72-4=68; 3 O Field, 74-5=69. Division Two: 1 Sam Fisher, 91-28=63; 2 W Eden, 9s5-28=67; 3 Dan Page, 91-24=67. Division Three: 1 R Eden, 111-51-60; 2 M Ferrier, 101-40=61; 3 K Overthrow, 99-33=66. Girls: 1 Claire Wenman, 93-36=57; 2 C Jobbins, 89-20=69; 3 Laura Brown,
