Man dies after quad-bike fall on royal estate

A MAN has died following a fatal quad-bike collision at Gatcombe Park at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Princess Anne's estate at Minchinhampton, after the three-day Festival of British Eventing had finished on Sunday.

Daniel Brookman, 20, from Chippenham, Wiltshire, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital but later died.

A 20-year-old man also from Chippenham has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was released on police bail until October 25 pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for the Festival of British Eventing said: "We are deeply saddened and extend their heartfelt sympathies to his family and all concerned."

A spokesman for Princess Anne said yesterday: "The Princess Royal and Rear Admiral Laurence were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Daniel Brookman and offer their heartfelt condolences to his family."
