Village ready for fair

KINGSWOOD village fair and classic car show takes place next weekend.

On Saturday, September 3 (1-5pm) the annual event, organised by Kingswood Village Association, will take place at the playing field.

Around 100 classic cars will be on show throughout the day with many other events taking place to entertain the whole family.

Events taking place in the main arena include a falconry display, line dancing demonstration and karate display.

Bristol Zoo will have a display of reptiles throughout the day and children can be entertained with a Punch and Judy show.

Entertainment on the main stage will be provided by the Wotton Silver Band and the Sure Foundation, with a balloon release at the end of the show.

For people wanting to learn more about circus skills there will be juggling workshops and demonstrations.

Visitors can also find out more information about the Second World War, as a double-decker bus from the era will be making an appearance at the show. On board will be information about life during the war years.

The event also incorporates the annual craft and produce show, with a wide variety of categories.

The show will end with a parade of the classic cars on display.
