Butchers still best

A FAMILY butchers has reigned supreme at a recent roadshow.

Cam Family Butchers retained the award for its regional speciality sausage for the seventh year in a row at the recently held South West Regional Roadshow for butchers.

Mark and Carol Carr have owned the popular Cam butchers for 18 years.

In total they walked away with eight gold awards this year in categories ranging from speciality pork sausage, traditional pork pie and speciality cold pie.

Mr Carr said: "My wife and I worked really hard on perfecting all our products, so it was a huge relief when the results were announced.

"I think the real success of our products is the good quality ingredients we use, with all our pork supplied from the local area."

Mr Carr also extended his thanks to employee Zoe Ball who helped finish off the pork pies before the competition.

Cam Family Butchers is now preparing for the Champions of Champions competition in London next year.
