Kebab shop worker pleads guilty to brawl

A MEMBER of staff at a kebab house in Dursley has admitted a charge of affray following a mass brawl on the premises almost a year ago.

Mustafa Cetin, 31, of Kingsmill Park, Dursley, had previously denied the offence but at Gloucester Crown Court on Monday he changed his plea to guilty.

He was one of six defendants in the dock - three of whom now admit their parts in the brawl at Dursley's Kebab and Pizza House in Parsonage Street.

The other two are customers Kevin Withers, 27, of Hadley Road, Cam, and Stephen Burrows, 37, of Withy Way, Cam, who pleaded guilty to affray at an earlier hearing.

However, Burrows applied through his barrister Nigel Fryer for permission to change his plea back to not guilty.

Mr Fryer said Burrows had felt pressurised at the last hearing into pleading guilty on a limited basis but, having reflected, felt that he had acted entirely in self defence and was innocent.

However, Recorder Michael de Navarro QC refused the application and said Burrows' guilty plea must stand.

He remanded Mr Burrows, Mr Withers and Mr Cetin on bail for pre-sentence reports to be prepared and told them all to return to court on October 24 for sentencing.

Alan Fuller, prosecuting, said that as long as the sentencing of the trio proceeded without any problems at the next hearing he would offer no evidence against three other defendants who had pleaded not guilty.

These are kebab house workers Vzeyir Cetin, 27, of Dursley and Meulut Kilicaslan, 21, of Northgate Street, Devizes, Wiltshire plus customer Brian Pritchard, 36, of Olive Grove, Dursley.
