Choirs to unite for charity

THE Dursley Male Voice Choir and Stuart Singers of Minchinhampton have joined forces for a special charity concert at the weekend.

Both sets of singers are now busy putting the final touches to their choral repertoires; rehearsing for their joint concert taking place at the Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham tomorrow.

The evening is a benefit concert for local charity the Cobalt Appeal Fund Crack Cancer Campaign.

Tickets are available now but with the great reputation of both choirs, they will be selling quickly.

Melodious medleys include Anything Goes, a Cole Porter number sung by Stuart Singers, Memory by Lloyd Webber sung by the Dursley Male Voice Choir and, last but not least, the renowned tongue-twister which reaches a furious frenzy of speed - Rhythm of Life sung by the choirs jointly.

"As a past singer with a local choir I am really looking forward to the evening" said Zena Giles, fundraiser for the Cobalt Appeal Fund. "The charity is very grateful to the Stuart Singers and Dursley Male Voice Choir for giving their time to raise funds which will benefit cancer patients locally."

To secure your place at the concert and purchase your tickets call the Bacon Theatre Box Office on 01242 258002.
