Nothing slack about Union Jack

THE rise of North Nibley's Josephine Eley and Nibeley Union Jack has continued at the British Dressage National Championships.

In Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, the pair won the Shearwater Supreme Championship and the Panacur Potential International Dressage Horse four-year-old final. The two wins followed success earlier this year in the Derby House International Young Dressage Horse of the Future competition.

Mrs Eley bred the stallion and has been overjoyed with his continuing good fortune. She was delighted with the wins and hopes Jack will continue to rise to top-level dressage in time.

She said: "To breed a horse like Jack is very special. The breeding started as a hobby and it has just grown and grown. We have seven stallions here and about 30 horses at any one time.

"Jack is definitely one of the best horses we have ever had, he finds it so easy and has a really wonderful temperament."

Horse and rider currently compete up to medium level.

Added Mrs Eley: "Jack is a very talented young horse and I believe he will go far. He's like a pet dog, he loves attention and is a very kind horse."
