Dominant Dominic

Hereford/Gloucestershire Division Two Newent III 0 Wotton-under-Edge III 5

WOTTON thirds produced their best performance of the season to see off Newent and climb above them in the table.

The best passing move of the match led to Wotton's opening goal - a cool finish from Dominic Avis - but this was a small return given the number of chances the team created.

The second half saw Wotton's talented youngsters turn on the style with both individual skill and accurate passes.

Sam Wilcox and Chris Gee had outstanding games playing out wide, getting behind the Newent defence and feeding the front line. Wotton's conversion rate was much better in the second period with both Mike Froggatt and Matt Tait scoring with crisp strikes.

Avis later added his second after wrong footing both defender and keeper with some great skills, while Aaron Sycamore rightly celebrated his fiercely-hit first league goal for the Blues to make it 5-0.
