Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two

Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two Dursley Town 3 Mushet & Coalway 1

A BLISTERING hat-trick in the opening nine minutes from player-manager Martin Booth meant that a Dursley win was never in doubt.

Poor Mushet and Coalway were completely overrun in a whirlwind opening and Town coasted to victory thereafter.

Dursley broke the deadlock inside two minutes when Booth was picked out in the inside right channel and he rattled a shot across the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

Four minutes later Booth was left unmarked inside the area and he calmly made it 2-0.

The player-boss then completed an incredible nine-minute hat-trick by latching onto a long ball straight through the heart of visitors' defence.

Dursley were able to relax thereafter with Lee Thomas and Wayne Hill dictating the pace of the game, leaving the Town defence relatively untroubled.

Mushet battled hard throughout and on the hour mark hit the crossbar with a speculative shot from distance.

Dursley continued to create chances, with Tim Woodward, Wayne Hill and Rich Gillingham working the goalkeeper from outside the area and Ian Beevor and Nigel Hart missing chances from close range.

Town blotted their copybook five minutes from time with a defensive lapse to give the visitors a consolation but the result was never in doubt.

Man of the Match for Dursley was Gillingham, who marshalled the Town defence superbly and made intelligent use of the ball.
