Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One Viney St Swithins 1 Sharpness 6

SHARPNESS overcame the loss of a goal inside the first minute to rattle six goals past Viney St Swithins.

Matt Frankham, Ian Watkins and substitute Chris Andrews all struck twice as the Sharks dominated the game.

The visitors were caught cold as Viney took a lead after just 30 seconds. Sharpness goalkeeper Nick Grove got a hand to an angled drive but the ball went in off the post.

However, Sharpness picked their game up and were soon level.

Frankham beat his man before slotting past the goalkeeper and soon afterwards the Sharks went in front when Watkins thumped a header beyond the goalkeeper's right arm.

By the half hour the visitors were 3-1 up as Dave Nash set Frankham away and the forward rounded the goalkeeper before netting the follow up after a defender had blocked his first shot on the line.

With half time approaching, the Sharks added a fourth with Watkins getting his second after jinking into box and finding the bottom corner with a good finish.

Sharpness were equally dominant after the break but neither Watkins or Frankham could grab an elusive hat-trick goal.

Viney were struggling badly and their playmaker's frustrations boiled over to the extent that he was sent off.

With an extra man, the Sharks went in for the kill and finished the match with two more goals.

Andrews finished off a move set up by Dan Halsey and Lee Driver-Dickerson, while Scott Young laid on the final goal for Andrews.
