Charfield find that it's all in the Bredon

Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two Charfield 1 Bredon 2

A MUCH-IMPROVED performance from Charfield was not enough to stop them sliding to defeat at home to Bredon.

The home side played some good football in the first half and might have taken the lead through both Kris Lee and Lee Forrestall.

However, the Bredon goalkeeper had a fine game and kept the match goalless at the break.

Unfortunately for Charfield, the second half started badly and they quickly found themselves 2-0 down.

A defensive mix-up gifted the visitors the opening goal before Phil Ashpole miscued a clearance past debutant goalkeeper Craig Beavis.

The game opened up with the home side looking for a way back into the game and Beavis made two fantastic stops to keep his side in with a chance.

Alex May did head a goal with a minute remaining but there was no time left for Charfield to save an unlikely point.
