Slimbridge hosts crucial Sharpness v Berkeley cup clash

BIG rivals Sharpness and Berkeley Town meet for the fourth time this season on Wednesday night in their Stroud Charity Cup tie.

The game is being held at Slimbridge AFC's Wisloe Road ground with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Berkeley have been the dominant side of the Gazette area's Northern Senior League teams this season and have particularly enjoyed success over the Sharks.

Town won the league encounter at their nearest rivals 4-0 and then took a 1-0 win in the county cup, although Sharpness were extremely unlucky to lose that game after dominating for long periods.

More recently, Berkeley completed a perfect record of six league derby wins out of six against their three local rivals with a 2-1 win over the Sharks at Canon Park.

A good game is expected for players and spectators alike.
