Take notice

I READ in this week's Gazette (March 17) that the new Dursley Library is 'a triumph'.

Annie Murray, an author who attended the opening, said that libraries are 'about the community. Libraries are real places for real people.'

Why then is there no community notice board in this library where real people may display information about local events that they are organising? The file that is available for notices is hardly an effective substitute.

When I asked about this, I was told, 'It is not policy to have a noticeboard.'
