Sharks harpooned as Tetbury go on to meet Bulldogs

Stroud Charity Cup Semi-Final Sharpness 0 Tetbury Town 3

TETBURY TOWN and not Sharpness will play Cam Bulldogs in the final of the Stroud Charity Cup after a 3-0 win at Vale of Berkeley College on Tuesday.

On the balance of play, Tetbury deserved their win and rarely looked like being pegged back.

The visitors forced the Sharks back for long periods of the first half but had to be content with a goalless scoreline at the break.

However, when Tetbury did open the scoring early in the second half, it was not without controversy.

Despite the linesman's flag going up, the referee allowed Town to play on and take the lead.

Tetbury made it 2-0 when Sharpness goalkeeper Nick Grove failed to hold a shot and the follow-up was knocked home.

A period of pressure from the Sharks followed but they were always struggling to get back into the game.

A third Town goal put the result beyond doubt in injury-time.

The venue and date for the final of the competition will be confirmed in the near future.
