Counselling skills are a great asset for a variety of careers within a wide range of industry sectors including industry, commerce, the prison service and all layers of education. About half of all counsellors are employed for clinical work in health and social care settings. Other career paths can be found in teaching and research for academic bodies. The Introduction to counselling EDI certificate is fully comprehensive and covers a wide variety of topics such as types of counselling, listening skills, crisis mediation, bereavement, depression, eating disorders and much more.
Upon successful completion of this course you will gain a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling from EDI - one of the largest accredited awarding bodies in the UK vocational sector. The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) outlines that Level 2 qualifications recognise the ability for a student to gain a good knowledge and understanding of a subject area of work or study, and to perform varied tasks with some guidance or supervision. Learning at this level involves building knowledge and/or skills in relation to an area of work or a subject area and is appropriate for many job roles.
Having gained this qualification you will be able to further develop your career in this field by progressing to the NCFE Level 3 Award in Counselling Skills and Theory.
You should be able to complete the entire course within approximately 90 study hours. You will be required to submit four assignments.
