The Yate Open Art Exhibition, an annual event that is a showcase for the talent of many local artists in South Gloucestershire, is currently on display at Yate Heritage Centre.
The 2014 event was opened by the Mayor of Yate, Councillor Wully Perks who presented the awards to the winners.
The exhibition runs until the 14th October at the Heritage Centre on Church Road in Yate which is open on Mondays-Thursdays and Saturdays from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
David Hardill, the Community Heritage Officer, said " Once again there was a good standard of work from local individual artists demonstrating the value of this Open Exhibition, the only one of its kind in South Gloucestershire. It is gratifying that people of all different ages take part."
Winners of the Yate Open were 1) Kieran Naish "Trafalgar Square"; 2) Juan Nuevo "Difference" 3) Tim Wilmot "Chipping Sodbury Church". Commendations went to Roz Ernsting "The Girls" and Eileen Anthony "Daffodils".
