JOE Lycett, Katherine Ryan, Aisling Bea and James Acaster are among the comedy stars heading for the Cotswolds biggest festival this summer.

Cornbury Music Festival, which is held on the Great Tew Estate 10-12 July, features an exceptional line-up features Joe Lycett (Live at the Apollo, Celebrity Juice), who is best known as a regular panellist on E4’s Dirty Digest. Described as the ‘anti-lad of stand-up comedy’, he got his first TV break with Alexander Armstrong in the BBC1 game show Epic Win before featuring on Comedy Central’s Drunk History earlier this year.

Also topping the bill is sharp-tongued Katherine Ryan (Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The Apprentice: You’re Fired) who focuses on sex, single motherhood and feminism in her routines. An Edinburgh regular, Ryan is back on the festival circuit after her Glam Role Model tour which won her ‘Best Club Comic’ at the 2015 Chortle Awards.

Festival goers can also look forward to award-winning Irish stand-up comedian, actor, writer and self-confessed ‘solid guest at a dinner party’ Aisling Bea (Holby City, Would I Lie To You, QI) and Chortle’s 2015 ‘Breakthrough Act’ and ‘Best Show’ winner James Acaster (8 Out Of 10 Cats, Josh Widdicombe’s XFM show) who boasts his own Radio 4 series James Acaster’s Findings.

Other acts to look out for are rising star Adam Hess, multi-award winning, Australian stand-up Felicity Ward, sketch comedy group Massive Dad, musical comedian David Elms, Time Out ‘One to Watch’ Pierre Novellie, comedic dream-team Minor Delays, Oxford University’s own Ivo Graham, breaking acts Kieran Hodgson and Emma Sidi and hosts Fin Taylor, Patrick Turpin, Jack Barry and Elis James.

You can also expect an eclectic mix of of music acts from legendary Welsh soulman Sir Tom Jones to Supertramp founder, vocalist and songwriter Roger Hodgson. Highlights of this year’s line-up also include the award-winning R&B star Billy Ocean, Motown queen Martha Reeves, indie rockers Razorlight and The Fratellis, X Factor’s Only The Young, Welsh folk duo Paper Aeroplanes and rockney legends Chas & Dave.
