TOMATOJACK Arts in Berkeley is taking part in a creative fundraising event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Severn Vale Art Trail. Visitors to the TomatoJack Arts Gallery and Studio during the trail will be invited to try their hand at cutting and laying mosaic tiles for a donation to Meningitis Now, with the added bonus of a chance to win the completed mosaic.

Lynda Knott of TomatoJack Arts said: "We have been inspired by the BBC Arts Get Creative campaign to encourage everyone to get a little more creativity in their lives and thought the 10th anniversary of the Severn Vale Art Trial was an ideal time to do this. The first weekend of the trail coincides with the Sam Virgo Memorial Walk on Saturday, May 2 for Meningitis Now, and we thought it would be the perfect charity to support with this event.'"The 10 mile sponsored walk from Thornbury to Berkeley, which raises thousands of pounds each year for Meningitis Now, is in Memory of Sam Virgo from Berkeley, who died aged 2 in March 2008 from Meningitis. Sam's mum Sue Virgo and fellow fundraisers Lisa Higgins, Claire Spiers and Michelle Hankins laid the first tiles on the mosaic which is designed around the meander of the River Severn.
