YOUNG naturalists in South Gloucestershire can enjoy two free nature events during the summer holidays.

Firstly, on Tuesday, July 21 (10 am to 1 pm), there is a photography safari around Emersons Green Village Park. Bring a camera and a spirit of adventure and you can discover and capture the amazing diversity of life thriving in an urban woodland with expert guidance from naturalist and wildlife photographer Iain Green.

Then, on Tuesday Auguest 18 (8.30-10.30pm), you can enter the Twilight Zone. Enjoy a display of the silent flight of owls from Avon Hawk and Owl Trust and take the opportunity to find out more about these magical animals from an owl expert. Help set a moth trap with an insect specialist to lure tiny nocturnal creatures from the dark. Then take a guided walk with naturalist Ed Drewitt to seek out the wonderful and elusive nightlife in woodland around Emersons Green Village Park. Again, children must be accompanied by an adult.

For both events children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Resound Community Church, Blackhorse Road, Mangotsfield. To find out more or to book a place, email penney.ellis@photo-sensitive.co.uk or call 07896 315778.
