THE Subscription Rooms in Stroud is celebrating a great start to 2017, after eight of its workshops and classes sold out within a week of the year starting.

The popular arts venue is now putting a call out to experienced teachers and craftspeople to join them in providing a supportive environment to nurture the town’s creative talents.

Bev Tanner, the venue’s interim manager is delighted that the classes, workshops and sessions are proving so popular.

She said: “We have worked really hard to put together a timetable of really diverse courses and sessions, with some of the best craftspeople and wellbeing coaches from Stroud.

"It’s great to see that they have been received so well by the town, over 150 people have signed up for classes this year”.

But the great success of the classes has inadvertently put the centrally located building in a difficult position, as Bex explained: “With a quarter of our classes already sold out, and the rest of our programme experiencing very high levels of interest, we’re need more tutors to meet the amazing demand - what a brilliant position to be in.”
