CHILDREN are set to discover the fun and fascination of science at Gloucester Quays this half-term, with MAD Science Week from Monday, February 13 to Sunday, February 19.

Award-winning Sublime Science, which won investment on TV’s Dragon’s Den, will be organising interactive experiments at the outlet centre for youngsters of primary school age.

The aim is to put the fun in science with all the action taking place from Monday-Wednesday from 11am to 4pm.

Then experts from Cheltenham Science Group will be providing some hands on experiments for children to enjoy at Gloucester Quays from Thursday- Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

Cheltenham Science Group is a community interest company set up to inspire a new generation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). The aim is to build links between STEM based businesses and the wider community.

Gloucester Quays centre manager Matt Bird said: “With a child friendly science lab and some incredible experiments, there will be plenty of activities during MAD Science Week to fascinate and entertain children.

“There is a major campaign nationally to encourage young people to take up STEM subjects and we hope that perhaps these activities will be a fun way to inspire the scientists and engineers of the future.

“MAD Science Week is just one of a host of wonderful activities and attractions we have lined up at Gloucester Quays throughout 2017.”
