The magic of music, storytelling and theatre will again take over the town for the 2017 Nailsworth Festival, from Saturday, May 20 to Sunday, May 28. The event will start with a bang on Festival Saturday, with action in Mortimer Gardens from 10am.
Activities such as Tai Chi, Punch and Judy and juggling, as well as rock and roll and lindy hop dancing, will keep the whole family entertained. With local musicians scattered about the streets and an exciting new food trail, there is something for everyone.
A unique main performance will be held every night of the festival at 7.30pm, starting on Saturday with popular local skiffle party-band Thrill Collins. Sunday will see the leading chamber ensemble, London Bridge Trio, take the stage, while ‘Tales of Lust and Chocolate’ will delight listeners on Monday.
Festival-goers can choose between Alice Jolly's heart-wrenching memoir about stillbirth, or a musical performance by Daniel and Emma Reid, on May 23. Comedy takes over on Wednesday, with Tony Vino's observational humour and quick-witted responses, followed by more music on Thursday by Kathryn Williams. The Wizard of Oz takes the stage on Friday and the Madi Stimpson Quartet brings a final fanfare on May 27.
Prices for each event are between £5 - £15. Find out more and book tickets at www.nailsworthfestival.org.uk or from the town information centre in Old Market.
