Andy Garcia stars with his daughter in City Island

Andy Garcia was every inch the proud dad at the Los Angeles premiere of his movie City Island.

The actor stars alongside daughter Dominik Garcia-Lorido in the film and willingly posed alongside her for photos on the red carpet.

"As a father I'm very proud of her, and as an actress," he explained.

"This is the third time we've worked together."

The pair play father and daughter in the family tale about the secrets of the past catching up with the lies of the present.

"The drama and heartache and pain, it's kind of like the blues. I enjoy it but the comedic aspect is something that's very uplifting."

In real life, Andy says he's doesn't like to lie.

"I try to stay away from that, I've got too many things on my mind than to worry about things I said yesterday that weren't true!"
