Jim Carrey wins top website gong

Jim Carrey's official website has taken top prize at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Web Awards.

Launched last November, the revolutionary site - www.jimcarrey.com - was honoured in the film/TV category, and judged on visual design, creativity and content.

Entertainment Weekly called the site "a visually stunning treat", TotalFilm.com called it "the best site on the web", and the Wall Street Journal called it a "bizarre visual treat".

According to Entertainment Tonight, JimCarrey.com - a collaborative effort by the Christmas Carol star and interactive marketing agency 65 Media - received a whopping 35,000 hits in its first weekend after its launch, the highest for any celebrity website.

Jim's next big screen outing is in I Love You Phillip Morris with Ewan McGregor, released on March 17.
