FORMER Bond Girl Fiona Fullerton will compere the classical favourites Prom at Cheltenham Music Festival this July.

The Classical Favourites Prom, which features music chosen by ticket buyers, will be performed by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, July 5.

The concert will include Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, performed by chart-topping guitarist Milos Karadaglic, and Tony Banks, founder keyboardist of 70s rock giants Genesis, has also written a brand new piece of music entitled Arpegg for the concert.

To create a real ‘Proms’ feel to the concert, the front area of Cheltenham Town Hall seating will be replaced with artificial grass, creating an especially relaxed, indoors-outdoors feel where audience members can sit on picnic rugs.

Chris Pearson, from Cheltenham Festivals, said: “We’re delighted that Fiona Fullerton is able to join us as compere for this ‘Proms’ concert that is jam-packed with classical favourites, as chosen by the audience. That the audience will also get to hear Milos play Rodrigo’s famous Concierto, as well hear a brand new work composed by Genesis’s Tony Banks, is very exciting.”

The rest of the programme includes Mussorgsky’s Night on a Bare Mountain, Grieg’s Morning and In the Hall of the Mountain King, Elgar’s Nimrod, Sibelius’s Finlandia, Barber’s Adagio, and Bizet’s Les Toréadors.
