THE Open Secrets will be performing some of the greats of Americana at Under the Edge Arts, Wotton, on Saturday, September 20.
The band take their name 'The Open Secrets ' from the collection of short stories of the same name by Canadian writer Alice Munro,
The Open Secrets combine the best of modern country and old-time mountain music, their brand of Americana will put you in mind of Ryan Adams, the Band and Gillian Welch. The Open Secrets, however, write and play with an emotional intensity that is all their own.
The band brings the dustbowl tradition into the 21st Century. Their songs are populated by drunks, losers and drifters. But every once in a while love wins out and the guy gets the gal.
The performance starts at 8pm in the Chipping Hall in Wotton-Under-Edge, GL12 7AD and tickets cost £7/£5. Tickets can be booked online at www.utea.org.uk or by calling 07791 323869. Tickets may also be purchased on the night subject to availability.
