HARMONY is coming to the Oldridge Bar, Kingshill House, on Friday 21 November in the form of local quintet, The Elderly Brothers.

The group came into being after a sing-along in the Old Crown in Uley one evening, when they all joined in with the Everly Brothers’ ‘Singing in the Rain’. Members of the group had already sung with the Uley Singing Allsorts and the Dursley Male Voice Choir.

The three tenors, Roger, Brian and Morris, had been choristers with the St James Church Choir in their school days and are joined by bass voices Paul and Andy, who also play the guitar accompaniment. They perform popular songs with good harmonies from the fifties and sixties, previously done by groups such as the Everly Brothers and The Hollies. After the break there will be a chance to join in with a sing-along to some old favourites.

For those who would like to eat, there will be a home cooked supper served in the bar. The bar and kitchen will be open from 7pm with the entertainment starting around 8pm. There’s no entry fee but the hat is passed around.
