ENIGMATIC, mysterious and sub textural; songwriter Leonard Cohen is an unflinching character, with an exact sense of prose, a wry humour and the courage to wrestle with unspoken, forgiving human frailty with the brush of each line. Each song is stripped back - desolate, naked and sensual.

Keith James has a towering reputation for performing with and an undying love of the pure song in an exact, intimate and sensitive way. Along with familiar Leonard Cohen songs such as: Famous Blue Raincoat, Sisters of Mercy, Suzanne, and Hallelujah, James will also perform poems by Federico Garcia Lorc, (said to be Cohen’s greatest influence) which he has set to music.

Keith James will be performing the songs of Leonard Cohen at Under the Edge Arts on Saturday, February.

The performance starts at 8pm in the Chipping Hall, Wotton-Under-Edge. Tickets cost £12/11, and can be booked online at wwww.utea.org.uk or by calling call UTEA on 07791 323 869. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, subject to availability, but advanced booking is strongly recommended.
