MR Dowland's Midnight are a unique, imaginative and highly original oud, sax and guitar trio who will be performing live at Under the Edge Arts on Saturday, February 28.
Featuring guitarist and composer Knud Stuwe, multi-instrumentalist Simon Leach and saxophanist Jake McMurchie, and named after one of John Dowland's most melancholy lute pieces, this band plays intriguing and highly original instrumental music that somehow finds common ground between North African, Middle Eastern and early European themes while adding a touch of jazz exploration.
The performance starts at 8pm in the Chipping Hall, Wotton-Under-Edge.Tickets cost £8/6, and can be booked online at wwww.utea.org.uk or by calling call UTEA on 07791 323 869. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, subject to availability, but advanced booking is strongly recommended.
