LOUISE Jordan will be performing original works as well as her own unique arrangements of traditional material when she comes to the intimate setting of the Chipping Hall for Under the Edge Arts on Saturday, May 9.

Louise's award winning debut album TEMPVS has been described as ‘absolutely glorious’ and ‘a masterclass in songwriting’, and her original works demonstrate both empathy and storytelling ability; she describes her musical arrangements as "instinctive; embracing you like a familiar friend and providing comfort as they encourage you to reflect on and explore life’s uncertainties". These songs are bold in their honesty and striking in their intensity with a haunting simplicity and wide emotional range.

With her delicate, haunting voice and accompanying herself on piano and guitar Louise’s work crosses musical divides, being influenced by acoustic, classical and folk genres; she has completed UK tours with performances alongside Matt Cardle, Eliza Carthy, Phil Beer, Cara Dillon, Kris Drever and Richard Digance.

The performance starts at 8pm in the Chipping Hall in Wotton-Under-Edge and tickets cost £8 or £6 for concessions and can be purchased on the night (subject to availability) and online at www.utea.org.uk or by ringing UTEA on 07791 323869.
