COALEYFEST, the family music festival organised by Friends of Coaley School, is returning this month - and just happens to be the same weekend as Glastonbury. However unlike Glastonbury the queues for the barbecue and bar will short, the toilets are inside and clean and Kanye West & the Kardashians won’t be anywhere nearby!

The event takes place on Saturday, June27 at 5.30pm on Coaley School field and opens with a performance from the children of Coaley School and interspersed with the Coaley Morris Kids. Meg Hayden, singer-songwriter from Cheltenham will be performing an acoustic set, followed by Grace Palmer who recently performed at Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham. Grace a singer-songwriter also from Cheltenham has been performing on the local music scene since 2013. Grace has developed a distinctive vocal style which has been enjoyed by large crowds at her Gloucestershire gigs. There will also be performances from Mekon Man & the Cry Babies, a rockabilly band from Stroud, as well local band Sonnitus.

Headliners for the event are God God No!, from Dursley, who play mainly classic and contemporary rock, happily straying into blues and pop when it takes their fancy. It’s all set to be a wonderful evening of live music.

With a BBQ selling hot dogs and burgers, a licensed bar , a coffee tent and plenty of inflatable instruments and bubble wands for the children, this is the an ideal small family-festival with proceeds going to Coaley School and Coaley Village Playgroup.

Ticket prices are £5 adults, £2 children and are available from Coaley Village Shop or by emailing coaleyfest@gmail.com.
