UNDER the Edge Arts are delighted to welcome acclaimed choral director Mairi Campbell to the Chipping Hall on Saturday 27 June.

During the day Mairi will be running a wonderful Vocal Workshop, and using her deep musicality and gentle facilitation style to support singers of all abilities to discover more of what their voices can do; and have fun doing it (no experience required).

The workshop will run from 3pm until 4.30pm, in the Chipping Hall, Wotton-Under-Edge, GL12 7AD and the session will cost £10.

Then, in the evening, Under the Edge Arts invite you to enter the 'sounds world' of Mairi Campbell, songwriter and performer, for a unique and powerful performance that promises to re-awaken the ancient voice and draw the listener deeply in. Mairi Campbell will blend songs, stories, voice and viola to create a unique and powerful performance in the intimate setting of the Chipping Hall in Wotton-Under-Edge.

Mairi's songwriting partnership with David Francis has also produced some of the finest songs to come out of Scotland I recent years and her awards include ‘Scots singer of the year’, ‘Tutor of the year’, Female musician of the year’; Burnsong winner.

In 2008 Mairi’s version of Auld Lang Syne was placed in the pivotal scene of the blockbuster movie ‘Sex and the City’.

The concert, hosted by Under the Edge Arts starts at 8pm in the Chipping Hall, Wotton-Under-Edge. Tickets cost £8/£6 and can be booked online at www.utea.org.uk or by calling 07791 323869.
