THERE’s a bit of a buzz surrounding Liverpudlian four-piece Clean Cut Kid at the moment, with their debut single Vitamin C having reached the top 10 on Spotify’s Viral Chart.

One thing’s for certain, that Mike Halls, Evelyn Halls, Saul Godman and Ross Higginson are ready to put some meaning back into the world of pop, without compromising the feel good sound of a radio hit.

“It’s a bit of a mad one, really,” said frontman Mike Halls when he spoke to the Gazette.

" Take the single Vitamin C, for instance. I sat on it for eighteen months before we did anything with it and worked on it way before I married Evelyn, who is a well respected artist in her own right.

“Actually we are all really experienced session musicians but only got together as this line-up in November. We’ve all played some really big gigs but this is different.

And Mike’s passion for his songs is evident.: “I’m obsessed with music; I’ve been besotted with it for ever! I’ve always got a pair of headphones on and have done ever since I was a little kid!

"Song-writing is a mad process, a complete process, but of course the band also have an input.

It’s just been announced that the band are heading to Bristol as support for Shura in the Marble Factory on October 2 and Circa Waves at the O2 Academy on October 9, so if you want to catch a band who are really on the ascendency, now’s the time to do it.
