TO experience country singing with a difference, why not come along to see Ags Connolly when he performs at Wotton's Chipping Hall next week, hosted by Under the Edge Arts?

Ags is traditional country singer-songwriter from Oxfordshire and is a proud supporter of Dale Watson’s ‘Ameripolitan’ movement, which supports new music with a roots influence, away from the modern incarnation of country that exists today which proudly declares itself to be"The genre of a new generation that builds upon past generations, without apology."

Ags’ influences come essentially from hardcore country songwriters like David Allan Coe, Johnny Paycheck and Dale Watson. However, he also takes major singer-songwriter influences from the likes of Guy Clark, Loudon Wainwright III and Chris Knight.

‘How About Now’, Ags' debut album , produced by Dean Owens, was released on Drumfire Records in February 2014, and has been met with great critical acclaim.

Ags Connolly will be performing live at Under the Edge Arts on Saturday, October 17. The performance starts at 8pm in the Chipping Hall GL12 7AD and entrance costs £8/£6.
