THE tea-time performance at Dursley Methodist Church by The Blackheath Piano Quartet on October 3 proved to be a stunning success. Performances of Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor and Schuman’s Piano Quartet in E flat major were received with rapturous applause from a capacity audience. This was the first full concert ever performed by this extremely talented group of London-based musicians, who all enthused about the quality of the venue and its very fine acoustic and commented how much they had enjoyed playing together on this occasion.
To add to the enjoyment of the occasion, the audience were treated to delicious canapés and soft drinks during the interval.
This type of concert was a ‘first’ for Dursley Methodist Church, which is hoping to repeat the experience in the future.
The next concert, of a very different kind, to be hosted by the church will be a return of the much-loved Cotswold Youth Singers (past guests of Dursley Male Voice Choir), on Saturday 5th December, when they will be getting us all into the Christmas spirit with seasonal favourites.
